The Circus Nursery

This was the nursery where I slept as a child. My dad built the circus train car crib for my older sister and all of us kids had our turn in it.

When PJ and began planning to have kids, I knew I wanted to use the family crib. My dad did a great job building it, but the 1970's Orange-red paint was out of date. Once I re-painted it a darker cooler red tone, I continued to stencil on vintage inspired details. I also made custom bedding to fit the unique size of the crib. 

All of the colors were gender neutral which worked out well since we ended up having a girl first and then a boy.  Keeping with the circus theme, I loved the idea that a sleeping baby would be an amazing event worthy of a carnival side show styled sign!
